Report Private Property Damage

 

Residents with damage to their home or property due to a weather related event may use the form below to report the damage to Santa Rosa County. Once submitted, your information will be sent to several Santa Rosa County Departments including emergency management, public works, floodplain management and grants.


Submitting your property damage information:

  • May initiate a visit to your property by county, state or federal damage assessment teams. The information gathered on these visits may be used as documentation to meet specific damage thresholds in order for Santa Rosa County residents to receive assistance from FEMA or other programs.
  • Helps county staff to direct assistance groups like the American Red Cross, Salvation Army or other volunteer services to a specific area.
  • Gathers contact information which may be used to relay important damage related information to storm survivors.
  • Creates a historical damage database for county use when applying for future mitigation projects or grants which may improve the public infrastructure of an area.

Submitting your property damage information does not:

  • DOES NOT register you for any specific assistance programs including any that may be offered by FEMA. If assistance programs are available, you must apply directly with those organizations. Monitor your local media or visit www.santarosa.fl.gov for announcements on how to apply for any assistance that is available. If you do not have housing, food, or clothing, please contact the Citizen Information Line at (850) 983-INFO or 4636 for emergency assistance.
  • DOES NOT create a work order for road or drainage repairs. Damage to public roads or drainage can be reported online at http://www.santarosa.fl.gov/roads/index.cfm?tab=1 or by calling (850) 626-0191. If a road hazard is an immediate threat to public safety, please call 9-1-1.
  • DOES NOT replace reporting damage to your insurance company.
  • DOES NOT guarantee that your damage will qualify for any assistance.
  • DOES NOT guarantee that you will be contacted or your property will be visited by damage assessment teams. FEMA completes their own inspections of property.  If assistance is available in our area through a Presidential disaster declaration, you must apply directly with FEMA which will initiate a property visit.

TIP: If you have already begun repairs, be sure to take photos of the damage and keep all receipts for any repairs you make. Make sure the date is clearly visible on all receipts.

Photo Submissions: Unless stated otherwise in the body of your email, by submitting photos to this email address you are granting the Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners, its employees, designees, agents, independent contractors, legal representatives, and assigns, and all persons or departments for whom or through whom it is acting, permission and right to use the attached photograph/artwork/etc. for publicity, illustration, art, advertising, marketing, or any other lawful purpose.
