General Shelter Information
All adoptions and fosters are appointment only. Schedule yours online.
Lost your pet? Check the shelter first. Photos are posted online or visit us in person. The shelter stays open until 6 p.m. on Wednesday nights for pet owners to look for and redeem their pets during the work week. This extended time is allotted for pet redemptions only, all other services provided will resume the next business day.
Doggy Day Out
Interested in taking a dog out for for a quick trip or the weekend? Doggy Day Out pairs pets with members of the community for field trips. Outings can last one hour to all weekend and can include a trip to the beach, a hike or even a meal at a pet-friendly restaurant. Call the shelter for more information and complete our online application at least 48 hours in advance.
Operation Furever Freedom is a program designed to provide veterans, active-duty military, reservists and National Guardsmen with up to two pets, all fees waived. Military dependents are eligible for reduced rates. Outside animals must have a fenced yard and renters will need a landlord’s permission. An active ID or DD 214 card must be provided. We also accept donations! Check out our Amazon wish list where items can be bought from Amazon and shipped directly to the shelter. Frequently needs items include kitten and puppy food as well as kitty litter.
Volunteer or Foster
Love animals and have some time to give back to your community? Ask us about volunteering (see the volunteer page)! Come visit us in person to complete an application or call 850-983-4680 for more information.
We also are in need of foster pet owners to help care for kittens and puppies too young to be in a the shelter, animals recovering from illness or injury, and animals that simply need a break from a shelter environment.
