June Events at Your Santa Rosa County Library
June is Audiobook Appreciation Month – All SRC LibrariesCelebrate Audiobook Appreciation Month by checking out a variety of audiobooks from any Santa Rosa County Library. The libraries offer books on CD, Playaways and eAudiobooks that you can download from rbDigital. There are hundreds of titles from which to choose.
Preschool StorytimeStorytime programs are presented for preschool children ages three through five and include stories, finger plays and action rhymes. Caregivers must remain in the library during storytime; however, they cannot accompany children into the programs. Programs start promptly at the assigned times; latecomers are not admitted.
First timer? Visit the library to meet the storytime presenter, pick up a welcome packet, explore the children's area and enjoy a tour of the library.
Storytime will be presented during the following times June 3 through July 19:
• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library
• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library and the Milton Library
• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Gulf Breeze Library and the Pace Library

Summer Reading Programs through July 19A Universe of StoriesExplore space with “A Universe of Stories” this summer. Read for 15 minutes per day between June 1 and July 19 for great prizes. Register online or at the library. Pick up a reading calendar at the library or print one online from the program registration page. Bring completed reading calendars to the library's last program or through July 31 to claim prizes!
Programs for students who were in kindergarten through the 5th grades during the last school year will begin on June 3 and be held:
• 1 p.m. on Mondays at the Navarre Library
• 1 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Jay Library
• 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Pace Library
• 1 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
• 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library
All activities are free and open to the public. Registration for programs is not required.

The Illustriates Graphic Novel Book Club – Navarre Library - 8484 James M. Harvell Rd.Jun. 5, 4 p.m.Sixth through 12th graders can join fellow graphic novel enthusiasts to discuss the book of the month. Members can suggest reading ideas, interests, and discuss the world of the graphic novel. This month’s selection is “Anne Frank’s Diary: The Graphic Adaptation” adapted by Ari Folman. Registration is required.
STEAM at the Beach – Milton Library – 5541 Alabama St.Jun. 7, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.The Milton Library will host a beach-themed STEAM event:
- 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., build a beach using kinetic sand, ocean-themed LEGO kits, Arckits, and more, or make a beach-themed sensory bag.
- 1 - 4 p.m., enjoy the Aquaman movie (rated PG-13). Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Milton Library.
For the Win! Games Day– Milton Library – 5541 Alabama St.Jun. 8, 9 a.m.Enjoy playing games? Come to the Milton Library for game day. Bring games from home or play those provided by the library. There will also be an on-going Dungeons & Dragons campaign. This event is open to all ages and game groups are welcome.
