In the aftermath of the severe weather event on Monday, Apr. 20, Santa Rosa County will accept vegetative waste free of charge at the Central Landfill, 6337 Da Lisa Road. Tipping fees for debris will be waived for county residents only beginning Friday, April 24 at 7 a.m. for a period of ten days. Residents must be prepared to show identification to prove residency.
The county is also contracting with a debris hauler to assist residents affected by the storms in removal of debris in the coming weeks. Debris must be placed on the right of way and vegetative debris must be separated from construction debris. No furniture, white goods (appliances) or vehicles will be picked up. Pickup will be limited to storm-impacted areas determined by damage assessment teams. Two passes will be made over a two to three week period. For questions, call 850-981-7135.
