The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (US/IFAS) Santa Rosa Extension welcomes Libbie Johnson as the new agricultural agent. Her responsibilities will include crops (cotton, peanuts, wheat and others), forages and pond management.
Johnson has been with Santa Rosa Extension in an area agriculture agent position that was shared with Escambia County for the last three years. Johnson has a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisiana - Lafayette and a master's degree from the University of Florida - Gainesville. She will be based in the extension office in Jay and will be leading a program focused on local farming operations and agriculture enterprises.
The UF/IFAS Santa Rosa Extension provides residents of Santa Rosa County with research-backed education and expertise in specific areas. The extension offices in Milton and Jay offer opportunities to assist the citizens of Santa Rosa County in areas of agriculture, horticulture, 4-H youth, family and consumer sciences, and sea grant/natural resources.
