[ARCHIVED] Santa Rosa County dedicates time capsule

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners, other constitutional officers, special guests and members of the community dedicated a time capsule today, Wed., Nov. 9. The time capsule is buried at the new Santa Rosa County Courthouse located at 4025 Avalon Blvd. in Milton.

"It was a very special day to dedicate this time capsule during the 180th year of Santa Rosa County's creation," said Commissioner Robert A. "Bob" Cole, Chairman and District 2. "This time capsule will contain much of the history of the county for future Santa Rosans to explore 50 years from now."

The placement site will be marked with a plaque that will read “Beneath this sign lies a time capsule containing items reflecting the history of Santa Rosa County. The capsule is to be opened in 50 years’ time.”
