A county-wide Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is returning to Santa Rosa County. Citizens interested in learning more about how to be a part of CERT are invited to join Santa Rosa County FL Citizen Corps for a kick-off meeting at 9 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 21 at the Santa Rosa County Emergency Operations Center, 4499 Pine Forest Road in Milton.
"This is a great way to make a difference in your community," said Arc Thames, alternate logistics section chief and assistant citizen corps coordinator. "We're excited to have CERT county-wide again as CERT plays an important role in helping our community stay safe and prepared for emergencies alongside our ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) team as part of Citizen Corps."
