County makes improvements to Archie Glover Boat Ramp

Santa Rosa County will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tues., Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. for the recent enhancements made to the Archie Glover Boat Ramp, 2306 N. 14 Ave., on Escambia Bay north of I-10.

Improvements were funded by grants through the Coastal Partnership Initiative and Florida Boating Improvement Program along with local option sales tax and boater registration fees. The work included:
- Construction of an adaptive kayak launch with adjoining floating dock and gangway.
- Replacement of the pier including pilings and ADA-compliant catwalks on both sides.
- Renovations of the restroom to include ADA compliance and a ramp.
- Two ADA-compliant parking spaces with access aisles and accessible routes.

The Archie Glover Boat Ramp has always been popular with our boaters and fishermen," said Commissioner Sam Parker, District 1. "We are excited to offer these new enhancements that make it more accessible to all of our residents."
